A shooting near the White House has left two National Guard members dead.
On November 26 local time, the governor of West Virginia confirmed on social media that two West Virginia National Guard members who were shot earlier that day near the White House had died from their injuries. Two National Guard members were shot near the White House on the 26th. The White House spokesperson stated that President Trump had been briefed on the shooting, and the White House was under lockdown. The Washington D.C. Police Department stated that the suspect had been detained. U.S. Defense Secretary Hergsays stated that President Trump had requested 500 additional troops be deployed to Washington D.C. following the shooting. The FBI Director stated that the FBI had intervened and was assisting the investigation in Washington D.C. after the National Guard members were shot. U.S. Attorney General Bondi stated that federal agents had arrived at the scene of the shooting in Washington D.C.
