Los Angeles mayor: Curfew imposed in parts of downtown
Los Angeles Mayor Bass announced a nighttime curfew in parts of downtown Los Angeles today. Bass told the media: “I have declared a state of local emergency and declared a curfew in downtown Los Angeles to curb vandalism and looting.” According to Bass, a curfew of about 2.5 square kilometers in the city center will be imposed from 8 pm to 6 am the next day, and anyone other than residents, reporters and emergency service personnel will be prohibited from entering.
