In his first public speech since leaving office, Biden criticized Trump’s new administration
On the evening of April 15th local time, former Democratic President Joseph Biden of the United States delivered his first public speech after leaving office. In his speech, Biden criticized that “in less than 100 days, this new government has caused so much damage and destruction that it is shocking.” He also said that the current division in American society has reached an unprecedented level, “As a country, we can no longer be so divided.” According to the Associated Press, Biden delivered this speech at the National Conference of Disability Advocates, Advisors and Representatives in Chicago, and the speech mainly revolved around social security issues. Both parties expect that social security will be a key issue in next year’s midterm elections. In his speech, Biden emphasized the importance of protecting social security and said that federal government layoffs were one of the reasons why the Social Security Administration website crashed and people were unable to log in to their accounts.
