A Hawaiian Airlines passenger plane was forced to abort its takeoff before taking off from San Diego International Airport in California on the 20th local time due to a possible bomb threat on board. The 293 people on board were evacuated urgently and one person was arrested. The aircraft involved was an Airbus A330 aircraft, which was originally scheduled to fly from San Diego International Airport to Honolulu, Hawaii. The Port of San Diego Police Department posted on the social platform X to confirm that the flight was forced to abort its takeoff after the dispatch center received a call from the captain saying that there might be a bomb threat on the plane. All 293 people on board were safely evacuated and transferred to a safe area by bus. The captain then called the police and the FBI also sent people to search. The police said that no suspicious circumstances were found and there was no threat to the passengers. A spokesperson for the Port of San Diego said in an email that “a suspect has been arrested.” There is no information about the suspect or possible charges against him at this time. The spokesperson said that more details will be released later next Monday.
