Trump says Iran, Israel agree to ‘complete ceasefire’

Trump announced on his social platform “Truth” on Monday that Iran and Israel, which have been at war since June 13, have agreed to a phased “comprehensive ceasefire” within 24 hours, which will begin on Tuesday and lead to the “official end” of the conflict. The US President posted a message on his “Truth” social network that the ceasefire will take effect in stages at around 4:00 GMT on Tuesday. He wrote: “Israel and Iran have fully agreed that a comprehensive and complete ceasefire will be achieved. According to the message, the ceasefire appears to be carried out in two stages within 24 hours, with Iran first stopping all military operations and then Israel also stopping all military operations 12 hours later. Trump began: “In the 24th hour, the whole world will cheer the official end of the 12-day war.” He also said that the two sides agreed that “peace and mutual respect will be maintained” at every stage of the process. Neither Israel nor Iran has made an official comment on this. However, according to the latest reports, a senior Iranian official confirmed that Tehran has accepted the US ceasefire proposal mediated by Qatar. But Iran’s diplomatic mission to the United Nations did not immediately comment. The Israeli Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
